Station & Apparatus
Rumsey Rancheria firefighters work from a beautiful, state-of-the-art fire station, responding with modern fire apparatus, and working with the latest technology, tools and appliances.
Although owned and operated by the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians, the Rumsey Rancheria Fire Department makes every effort to open its doors to the local community, and partner with the Capay Valley Fire Protection District, Esparto Fire Protection District, and CAL FIRE. This effort compliments services provided by each agency through mutual respect.
The RRFD equipment acquisition program was designed to ensure that tools and appliances such as SCBA and hydraulic rescue tools matched those being used by our neighboring fire agencies.
Rumsey Rancheria Fire Station 25
This 15,000 square-foot, three-and-a-half-bay wide, double-deep fire station is situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful Capay Valley.
The fire station incorporates design elements of the nearby Cache Creek Casino Resort while retaining a quiet, but humble elegance fitting of this rural setting.
The station is equipped with a modern kitchen, living quarters that easily accommodates all on-duty staff. Additionally, there are SCBA and maintenance support facilities, as well as administrative offices.
A 4,000 square foot addition completed in 2007 increased the space for apparatus and equipment, maintenance facilities, added additional dorm rooms, office space and a modern exercise facility. Additionally, a state-of-the-art training room was constructed that can also serve as an Emergency Operations Center. This room supports two-way video/teleconferencing equipment, digital recording of training and other sessions, as well as remote access via computer of ongoing activities via computer.
